Karissa Waddell is a Canadian singer and performer, born and raised in the Okanagan. With a vocal style that lands somewhere between soulful, smooth and jazzy, Karissa has only just stepped her foot into the water with her music career and will continue on. Her passion for performing and sharing music with others developed at a very young age. She always knew that she wanted to perform, but through the natural pressures in life, she had put her underlaying passion to the side and focused on a steady 9-5 job. Until as of recently, she has been unsuccessful in burying that passion any longer. She could no longer deny the fire inside of her to get out there and express herself through music. Some of the successful artists that have inspired and influenced Karissa’s style and sound are Norah Jones, Colbie Caillat, Alanis Morissette, Katy Perry, and Hailey Reinhart. Karissa is currently top 30 of the quarterfinalists in the Okanagan’s Got Talent Show. She is also participating in another fundraiser to support children with special needs come March 2020, at the Vernon Performing Arts Centre. Karissa is now performing locally at restaurants, bistros and is currently booking private events. Her intent is to connect others to come together as one, through music.
